Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia

Barcelona is the capital of the region known as Catalonia. It has its very own flag and a language called Catalan which you see on the street signs. If you are planning to move to Barcelona or invest in the city you should know a few things before buying:
1. The best way to get around is by using the metro
You'll love doing lots of walking in Barcelona, but you will need to use the city’s metro at some point. There are stations all over the city and the lines are differentiable by number and colour. A single ticket on Barcelona’s metro will cost you around 2€ but rather than buying individual tickets for each journey, buy yourself a T-10 which costs around 10€ and will give you ten journeys.
2. Barcelona is one of the world capitals of architecture.

The city is full of buildings that are authentic works of art, with a variety of styles among which stands out the originality of Catalan modernism.

3. You should visit its two best-known parks
The first of these is Parc de la Ciutadella which can be found about ten minutes east of La Rambla.
The other is Gaudi’s Parc Guell which is just north of the city centre.

Locals are extremely passionate about their football club FC Barcelona, known locally as Barça. The home of Barcelona Football Club is Camp Nou.
5. Here you’ll find one of Europe’s most famous streets

Barcelona is where you will find one of Europe’s most famous streets known as La Rambla.
La Rambla is an emblematic walk of the city of Barcelona. You will find along La Rambla lots and lots of street performers. Throughout the day you can see human statues and street performers of all kinds on this famous street.

On the other hand, if you're looking for more peacefulness, an area like Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, with less traffic, may be the most suitable.
